KL Aventure - Day Eleven to Day Fourteen

Day 11 – KL – Pavilion
Today was my first day alone in Malaysia. It wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be. I took a taxi to pavilion and made it to sunageiwang shopping centre and I didn’t get lost once! It was good. I did quite a bit of shopping, mainly souvenirs. Just as I was about to leave to return to Midvalley, it was raining! =(. I was about to get into a taxi but he wanted to charge me 20RM! I was like NO WAY. Managed to get another one which only cost me 12RM. Glad I didn’t get ripped off. After putting my shopping away I went down to get some food…ended up doing a little bit more shopping before going to the hairdressers and straightened my hair for 200RM. They did a pretty good job. I’m quite pleased with it, although I know they probably over charged me, but in Aussie Dollars, it was only $66 which is so cheap. So I didn’t mind. I just wanted my hair straight, because I was so sick of waking up and having half straight half wavy hair due to my layers. Now it’s all straight. =). Then I just relaxed at starbucks using the internet to check my emails. I’m planning to go to Sunway Shopping Centre tomorrow to continue my shopping =) hehe. Still got to get myself some converse, some work shoes and jeans. Then everything else will be a bonus =) hehe.
Day 12 – KL – Sunway
Went to Sunway Pyramid shopping Centre today. Didn’t realize I would finish my shopping so early, as I got back to Cititel by 3pm. Then lazed around in my hotel room for a bit before coming out to starbucks to use the internet. Might go see a movie later to kill some time. I know theres a lot of things that I should do, that I haven’t but a little scared to do them alone. Haha. I’m satisfied with just shopping. Haha. So I didn’t see anything or do anything interesting today. Although I found it funny how my taxi driver back to the hotel kept saying yam instead of Jam…I think that’s what he was saying coz he kept saying te highway was “very yam” and he liked honking at people a lot. Lol. My first taxi driver to sunway was strange too, he asked for an Australian coin coz he was collecting them. He was very friendly though. His name was “uncle sam” haha. Funny. But yea. I was a little nervous, coz they were too friendly…LOL. Makes me wonder if they have an alternative motive. One bad thing that happened to me today was I bought these shorts, but they wouldn’t let me try them on, but I got a medium size thinking it would fit, it fit around my neck too, but…it turned out it was a tad too small. Stupid lady. Luckily it only cost me 15 RM haha. So shall have to give it to one of my cousins. I really liked the design too >_< it’s either that or lose some weight! Haha. I also got my jeans today. Bought 2. They’re very tight fitting, but that’s what I like about them, because after a while I know they’ll loosen up and will become just perfect to wear.  got some work shoes today too! Wearing them tomorrow to stretch them out. I also increased my luggage space to 30kg. I thought I had 25 but turned out I only had 20 LOL. So was lucky. Well I’m off to go and do some more wondering around megamall.
Day 13 – KL - MidValley
Slept in until 11am today. Doesn’t seem like sleeping in, but compared to my usual 10am it was. Haha. I did some last minute shopping at Megamall. Because it’s Saturday, the shopping centre was a lot more packed than usual. Everywhere I went there were heaps of people. -__-“; In preparation for the New Years, I got to see the dragon dance, although I had to use my camera to see it, because I was too short and there were just too many people. Now I’m just resting up in my hotel, before dinner time. Thinking of having sushi, hmm yummm! The only thing I haven’t bought that I’ve wanted to, is my converse shoes. Hoping Pavilion will have my size tomorrow. I just want plain black ones. Hopefully I will be able to get some before leaving Malaysia. I also ended up watching a movie at the cinema last night, I know its lame I went by myself, but I couldn’t resist seeing it was only 12RM, which is $4 AUD! Can’t beat that! Was going to watch another one today, but the line was just too long. I ended up seeing Tangled. I LOVED it!
Day 14 – KL – Last day of KL
Had a relaxing day just doing last minute shopping at Megamall, then chilling at Starbucks in borders until about 3pm before heading out to Pavilion. Traffic was bad, as it took just over 30 minutes to get there when it should’ve only been about 15 to 20 minutes! Suppose it was because it was Sunday and with Chinese new years coming out, everyone was out and about. Seems my friends had been held up by traffic too as we were meant to meet at 4pm, but ended up meeting at about 5pm. We made our way to sungeiwang for them to do their last minute shopping as well. I also managed to get some few bits and pieces. Also got some “converse” styled shoes. Not the original, but it was close enough. Haha. Material wasn’t as good as converse though. Shall have to buy proper ones when I get back to Melbourne. We were at Sungeiwang until about 7.30pm before making our way to LCCT airport. Everything went smoothly. My Suitcase only weighed 20.9kg! I should’ve stuffed more. Haha. Plain ride was very uncomfortable. I was sitting down for so long my back and ass hurt. Will be landing in Melbourne soon. First thing I do when I get home is have a shower, unpack and then sleep! Then I’ll probably check my emails, go through my photos, work on the video and wait for tomorrow to come. I’m looking forward to seeing my family again. Missing them, even though I was only gone for about 2 weeks. Will be looking forward to eating my mums food!

KL Adventure - Day Five to Day Ten

Day 5 – KL Midvalley Shopping Centre
The moment we landed in KL, we went out to megamall to shop. There were many familiar shops like Diva, Converse, The Faceshop, KFC..etc. haha. I resistedf on buying anything as we still have lots of other shopping centres to visit in KL! Seeing that I will be shopping around the hotel a lot I decided to wait. The only thing I have bought so far, are coloured contacts! Im excited to wear them! Can’t wait! I bought 4 different pairs for about $17.50AUD each! It was so cheap, considering it was powered and I got a discount! In Australia, they would’ve cost about $50 per pair! Had dinner at a restaurant called delicious. The price was average, cost me about 35RM. I ended up having a warm chicken salad with this mango and lychee drink. That was also average, but the salad was good! I enjoyed that. After eating we decided to see a movie, despite wanting to see repunzel we ended up watching The Tourist at 11:35pm. While waiting for the movie we bought some drinks and snacks. I also bought a Cleo Magazine for 5 RM! That’s like less than 2 dollars! I’m exhausted after the movie, but I enjoyed it! It was a great movie. Although I think I did fall asleep at one point...missed the best part of the movie =(. Oh wells hopefully will get to see tangled tomorrow. We are planning to go to the city and do some more shopping! Can’t wait! Hopefully I will get some good bargins!

Day 6 – KL Shopping Galore
Today was another exhausting day, you must be reading this and thinking,, “you say your tired EVERY day” haha. Its true, I have been. Just been walking eating shopping, more walking, more shopping and then more eating! I can barely finish my meals – no surprise there. Haha. My legs were aching from over 4 hours of shopping today, but it was so worth it! Went to 6 different shopping centers, came out with 4 pairs of shoes, some tops, some gifts and random things!
Can’t wait to go to Petaling street tomorrow to do more shopping! There’s still so many more things I want to buy! So enough about my complaining of sore feet and legs, and more about my day. We started off at Pavilion shopping centre, had breakfast about 10am. Then shopped around abit, they had FOREVER 21!! It was awesome! Only bought a few things that were on sale, nothing really appealed to me. LOL. We did most of our shopping in sungeiwang shopping centre. It reminded me a lot like china and Hong Kong. Lots of people, lots of cheap and fake stuff, lots of bargaining going on. That’s where I did my shoe shopping. They are so comfy! Its unbelievable! Need to buy more gifts over the next few days for people. But should be ok  Hope I have enough money to spend over the next few days – the remaining days of my trip. Not looking forward to the return flight back
to Melbourne where everything is expensive! After our massive shopping fest, we were going to watch tangled, but we were too late to watch it, and now its not showing in Malaysia anymore  so sad. Shall have to watch it in Melbourne. We also ate at Din Tai Fong! It tasted just as good as it did in Sydney! Was so yummy! After our disappointment of not being able to watch the movie, we went bowling – hate that sport. Always come out with a bruised thumb for some reason. LOL.
It was so cheap, it was about 20 RM which is $6 AUD! Can’t get that in Melbourne, that’s for sure! I was really tired by this time, but carried on to Zouk, where we got a beer tower and Jelly Shots! I had trouble with my jelly...HAHA. but got it out eventually. Was quite tasty! Now Finally in bed, ready for another exhausting (yes EXHAUSTING) day!

Day 7 – KL Sightseeing and Petaling Street
We did a lot today, went to KLCC where we took lots of photos of the Twin towers. We wanted to go up to the bridge, but there weren’t any more tickets available, so we were satisfied with just taking pictures outside. We made our way to the sky deck tower after, in which we paid about 38RM and got to take pictures of the snakes and animals, even having birds sit on us! I was too afraid to have a snake on me though. Hahah. We got pony Rides and got a feel of driving the F1 – Very hard to control the car! At one point, I think I was driving around the wrong way around the track coz I spun out…and didn’t know which way was the right way. Hahaa. We took some nice photos of the view from the tower before making our way to Petaling Street. Man talk about crazy people! They all wanted sales, and they all offered discounts straight away. I had the biggest headache just from the crowd! But I got some good buys, but I think I still like sungeiwang better. Less crazy, lot more “my style” haha. Might go again after the others leave. We finished the night be doing Karaoke Buffet. The food wasn’t that great, average I’d say. It didn’t go downs o well. But the songs were good. Got to sing lot of new songs. The funniest song we sang was “Coz I got High” haha. The lyrics to that song were just soo funny! Tomorrow will be a lazy day, for sure!

Day 8 – KL – MegaMall and Jagoya
Today was a sleep in day, we all split up and did our own things. I slept in until about 10, woke up and went out shopping. Bought a few things for family and then went out for lunch at Din Tai Fung. It was so yummy! Had their Mango Pudding, and was so full I couldn’t finish it! Afterwards, we walked around for a bit before buying cake and flowers to surprise our friend for her birthday (which was a month ago) but on the request from her bf, we decided to celebrate it in KL since she had been wanting to celebrate it overseas. IT is also another friends last day, as he is returning back to ,Melbourne, meaning I am now alone in my hotel. Not long before my other friends will be leaving to go on their own adventures before we all reunite back in Melbourne, back at work. I can’t believe how fast the holidays have gone by. Im missing everyone at work, realizing they are all backa t work today.
Can’t wait to see them again on my return. One week left! Anyways, we went to Jagoya Japanese Buffet in starhill which was amazing. There was so much food I didn’t know what to eat! So I took a bite out of everything and went out to get more food! So had lots of left over food, but I just couldn’t eat anymore! They had a large variety from sushi to oysters from chocolate fountains to ice kechang and many more! We then headed back to Zouk at The Gardens to get a few drinks. The bar tender was nice enough to give us free tequila shots, which was nice of them. Not enough to get us a drunk, but enough to get us HIGH. Hahaha! Disappointed that everything had closed by this time (which was about 1am) we all went back to our rooms to sleep. Tomorrows plans are to go to Sunway. Shall be a good day!

Day 9 – KL – Sunway Pyramid
Today was a fun day. We headed out to Sunway Pyramid Shopping centre at about 10am. We didn’t do much shopping but managed to take sticker photos, go to fish spa, ice skating and even went to Jusco to buy some undergarments. LOL. Just a relaxing day. I think I will need to go back to Sunway to have a look around and do some more shopping though. We even got to do some shopping at the Malaysia Daiso! It was awesome! Everything was 5RM! Which is like $1.50 AUD! The one in Australia is $2.80, so much more cheaper! We then went back to Midvalley and relaxed for an hour or so before heading out to dinner. We went to have Roti, but the service was horrible and the waiter couldn’t understand us! It was so frustrating! I think it also gave me a stomache ache, or almost did anyways! We Finished the night by drinking and bowling. HAHAHA.
I lost the first 2 games, made a slight comeback in the third, The last game was hilarious. We decided to do CRAZY bowling. What is CRAZY bowling you might ask? Well…every time we bowled, we would bowl in a crazy way. We first started with bowling upside down/ backwards, then we did some hopping, some blind bowling, some side hopping, leg crossing, some kicking and even spinning! Hahaha. Was a fun game! I managed to get a strike with my upside down one! That was awesome HAHAH. Then we went to the archade game and I played DDR with my friend. But it was so funny, we were just being so silly! Hahaha. Finally finished playing at 12am. Now getting ready for a night rest before going to Genting tomorrow! How exciting! Can’t wait to go on all the rides!!!

Day 10 – KL – Genting Theme Park
We went to Genting Theme Park today! It was awesome! It took u about 1hr from Midvalley though. On the way to genting, we stopped by some tourist attraction areas such as the hanging stone and temple to take some photos. Genting was quiet as we were there early and because all the kids are back to school, so the lines for the rides weren’t as long as we thought they would be. Managed to go on all the major rides we wanted to go on. Some were closed for maintenance which was a shame, but we spent a good day there. Only down side was the annoying people who didn’t know how to act properly in public and the really bad odour of the rides. It stunk so bad! Especially the superman ride! We missed out on doing sky diving, which would’ve been a great experience. They said it took 45 minutes to prepare for the ride, which only took about 2 minutes. It was crazy! But it was pretty cheap…about $12 AUD.
My favorite ride was the big drop. It was amazing! It was scary as we went up the ride because we just kept going up and up! We were practically level to the clouds! That’s how high the mountain was already! We left Genting about 5pm. We then headed off to basamalam night market, which I managed to get some good buys. They were selling fake eyelashes at 1RM per pair! A box 10 eyelashes was like 3RM! It was so good! Although it did start to rain towards the end of night which sucked, and the market was packed wth cars and people coming from every direction! It was crazy! I got this really cute Sheep pillow. Hehe. It’s also foldable which I thought was pretty cool. Can hug it to sleep for the next few nights since I’m along in Malaysia now. The others are off on their mini adventures to Hong Kong and Singapore. Not long to go before I am back in Melbourne. Thinking of going to Pavilion tomorrow, just got some last minute shopping to do.

Langkawi Day 2 - Day 4

Langkawi Day 2 – Cable Car and Waterfall and Bridge
On Day two of Langkawi, we headed up to the Cable Cars that allowed us to walk across a bridge overlooking the mountains and sea. To our dismay, the cable cars had been temporarily closed upon our arrival which made us quite disappointed. It also made us disappointed because maintenance was scheduled for today, which means the cable cars would be closed for about 14 days. Thinking we wouldn’t get a chance to go on the cable cars to cross the giant bridge, some of us rode around the shops on a segway, while some of us relaxed on benches overlooking the pond. It reminded me the of Chinese Garden in Sydney. On the spur of a moment, we headed off to view the waterfall in langkawi. It was an amazing view! We took lots of photos and even saw some crazy monkeys on the road! (not to mention the cows!)
We had to hike up a thousand stairs before we finally reached the top of the top of the mountain, which was the bottom of the waterfall! Haha. The monkeys crept up around us, and freaked us out! After spending some time at the waterfall we made our way back to try our luck with the cable cars, however while waiting in the car we witnessed a monkey stealing a can of coke from a motorcylcle in front of us. It was crazy! We were all happy to find out that the cable car was now operating. So we made our way up to the top, took some pictures of the view and then made our way across the scary bridge. We finished the day by eating a massive crab meal on the streets before finishing off with coconuts at 12am. Except, the coconuts did not taste as good as I thought they would, so that was disappointing.

Langkawi Day 3 - Snorkling
Today was a tiring day from the moment we woke up at 6am to get ready to have breakfast and then make our way to the bus for a trip to the beach for snorkeling. We were frustrated at the time we had to wait as we picked up other passengers from other hotels. However that was soon forgotten as we reached the island (about 2 hrs later -__-“)

My first experience of snorkeling was amazing. Although the beginning was slow and disappointed as I couldn’t see any of the fishes but once we swam around for a bit, they started appearing. After lunch we threw pieces of bread at the fish which awed us as they all started attacking for more food! It was amazing. We saw some amazing colored fishes and even got to see some sharks! We then fed the fishes apples…haha that was quite interesting.

We laughed as the boys enjoyed their time in the water, while the girls sat on the beach sunbaking. We finally left the beach to head back to our hotel at 2:30pm. After refreshing up and resting for a little bit, we headed out to dinner at 6:30pm. We finished the night by having a few drinks back at the hotel, playing the waterfall pyramid game and the “I have never” game. It was fun and relaxing, with us all giggling by the end of the night!

Langkawi Day 4 – Jet ski and Banana boat
Day 4 of Langkawi was the most exhausting day of all! We went out to the beach to do Jet Skiing and the Banana Boat. I was scared at first as I was riding the jet ski on my own, but after a few minutes I was speeding on the water like crazy! I loved it! It was definitely an awesome first experience! There were a few times in which I thought I was going to fall into the water, but after learning to control the jet ski, I didn’t have to worry!

We were on the Jet ski for about 30 minutes and it cost us 100RM, discounted from 150RM which was pretty good considering the couple before us payed 150RM each. So that worked out to be about $33 AUD! The banana boat was about 20RM. It was the most painful Water Ride I have ever been on! There was 5 of us on the boat, holding on to these handles in front of us, in which were hard to grip onto! We were pulled along by the guy in a jet ski, and he would turn left and right at certain times, making the banana boat sway more to one side, making us all fall into the water!

The second time I fell into the water, I hit my head against someone soo hard it was throbbing the next day! After that, we managed to stay on the boat for most parts, with the occasional loss of a passenger or two! Hahaha. Thank god for those life jackets! LOL! After that exhausting day of water activities, Daniel and I made our way to a shopping centre that was quite far, but it was pretty decent for langkawi. We took some nice photos and had lunch at a chicken shop. Best Hainenese chicken I’ve ever tasted!

We then finished the night by experiencing Sheesha (or as the Malaysians call it, Chicha! Haha), we had 3 different types of flavours that included strawberry, grape and Apple. Everyone seemed to enjoy the strawberry one the most. It made my mind soo slow, I could barely walk back to the hotel! I don’t think I would ever do it again. Haha. But it was interesting as a first time. Was quite fun trying to see how much smoke we could all blow out. LOL.

First Day in Langkawi

After a long flight to KL and then connecting flight to Langkawi, we started our adventure on a crazy carr ride to Awana Hotel. The drivers in Langkawi are Crazy! They don't give way, they drive on the wrong side of the road, they don't wear helmets and they don't pay attention to any road rules. Wait road rules? I don't think I even saw any speed limit signs! haha. Reaching the hotel, I was awed at the amazing view of the grand fowyer. Will update pictures later of our Hotel.

Our Hotel was not as bad as I thought it would be, although it took us forever to arrive as there were so many rooms, so many corners and so many walkways! But it was worth it when we were greeted with a well air-conditioned room, decent TV, mini fridge and massive bed! Not to mention, the connecting room to our friends on the otherside!

After resting up from our long flight, we made our way out to the hotel pool in which we enjoyed the sight of the eagles soaring through the sky, birds touching the water like stepping stones, sunbaking in the sun to playing on the playground that was situated on the middle of the kids pool. We also played keepings off with a tiny ball the pool boy provided us after we asked for a "ball" to play with. Only to realise that we werent suppose to be playing games in the pool,, which they didn't tell us off for. They also wouldn't let guys wear their shirts in the pool! So strange! nonetheless, it was an awesome experience. Might go back tomorrow for a morning swim =).

We then headed out to have rotti and meegoreng for dinner near the Langkawi Parade Shopping Centre, located in the city of langkawi. It cost us 5MYR! That's equivalent to $3 Aussie Dollars, and thats including the Ice Teh Drink we had! We were so full after, we made our way to the Duty Free shop in which we purchased tax free Alcohol (Russian Vodka, Normal Vodka - 46% alchohol and some other random one...). Now I'm sitting in the Hotel lobby, sipping a glass of vodka lemmonade, using the free wifi and listening to relaxing music. Life can't get better than this right? For now, anyways. haha. Shall be heading off to bed soon, as tomrorow shall bring another adventure. Until then, have a good night!
